It begins! The first interviews are scheduled

Hi everyone,

Despite how quiet it has been on this website, things have been percolating behind the scenes. We are in full-swing planning our 2025 Maker Market (December 20th!), but we have a very important update for you.

The first two of the Farhat* siblings have had their interviews scheduled. (Ahhhh!!!!!)

We’re so excited that they’ve moved into the next step of the sponsorship process, and this represents an inflection point in their journey. We hope that in the interview, the staff see that their story is genuine, that they do not have a durable solution in their current country of exile, and that the only right course of action is to welcome them to Canada so they can be safe.

One of the central motivators for some of us in the sponsorship group is the inherent dignity found in all people (and the universe), such that people are the precious creations of a loving God. It’s in that spirit that we ask, if you pray, to pray for the Farhats* and us as this important bridge is crossed. If you do not pray, or share a different spiritual belief, we also ask that you keep us in your thoughts and celebrate with us when we hear the next positive news in this process.
